On Thursday, Scott Van Slyke and the Dodgers agreed to a one-year, $1.225-million contract for the 2016 season.

Van Slyke, 29, made $522,000 last season, so he’s more than doubled his salary in the first year he was arbitration eligible despite having a somewhat down season while dealing with injuries.

Van Slyke appeared in 96 games last season, ending with a .239/.317/.383 slash line in 253 plate appearances. He had six home runs and 30 RBIs. When he was healthy in 2014 he put together a .297/.386/.524 line with 11 homers and 29 RBIs.

Last season he missed games on the disabled list with a back injury, and later in the year with a wrist injury that kept him off the postseason roster and opened a spot for Yasiel Puig.

With Van Slyke and reliever Chris Hatcher signed, the Dodgers have four players remaining who are eligible for salary arbitration — Kenley Jansen, Justin Turner, Yasmani Grandal and Luis Avilan.

Players and teams are scheduled to exchange salary figures on Friday.
