More than 6,000 Californians die from drug overdoses each year. To reduce those deaths, California lawmakers are considering legalizing safe drug use sites. Safe injection sites have been operating in Canada for nearly twenty years.

L.A. Times columnist Anita Chabria travelled to Vancouver to see what California could learn from our northern neighbor.
